Small Block Chevy 400 w/ Align Honed Block

VITON REAR MAIN SEAL, TO SUIT ALIGN HONED MAINS

When a SB 400 block gets align honed, the lip which holds the rear main seal, gets honed oversize. This is because the main bearing housing bore is larger than the seal lip diameter. There is no way to avoid this when align honing.

Once the align honing has been completed, the rear main seal lip is now larger and now requires a special size rear main seal and this is the seal for the job.

This seal is manufactured from Viton rubber which is the toughest seal material in use today. Viton is rated for extended exposure to high oil temperatures and is suitable to racing as well as everyday street use.

Each seal comes with a thin spacer strip factory installed on the backside of the seal. The spacer strip makes up for the material which is honed off the factory seal lip. An excellent main seal for align honed SBC 400's.
