Valve Seal Protector Sleeves
Fits 1/2" Stem Valves or shafts
Once upon a time, these were included with all valve seal sets. Back in the day when old school teflon seals were all the rage, protector sleeves were mandatory because teflon seals would certainly get damaged without a sleeve. The old school teflon seals slowly became obsolete as they were replaced with a better design- the viton seals. Within a few years, protector sleeves were no longer included in seal sets and the sleeve supply dried up.
It's always made perfect sense to use a sleeve over the valve stem groove as it guarantees the seal will not get cut from any sharp edges in the groove area.
We've searched for these for years but in 2013, while at a trade show, we found a German manufacturer who could supply them. We've invested a lot of time and money to make protector sleeves once again, available.
If used with care, these normally last for multiple sets of heads. Every head builder should have a few of each size to assure seals are safely installed.
Also available in packages of 100 or more. Write for a quote.
This listing is for 1/2" sleeves but we also carry the following sizes. Check our other listings.
Sleeves are easy to use. Just slip the sleeve over the valve and slide the seal right over the groove. See pictures for an example of sleeves installed on a valve.
Seals install smoothly when lubricated.
