SB Ford w/ 1.545" Exhaust valves 

     Fitment-

  • SBF numerous applications
  • Uses the same tip length as the intake @ .393" (Does not require different intake/exhaust retainers/locks, non staggered)

These are competition series race valves suitable for the track as well as the street.
 
These Stainless Steel valves can be used on many different SB Ford engines both early and late.
 
Unlike many late SBF engines where the exhaust tip length is longer than the intake, these exhaust valves use a .393" tip length so they do not require different intake/ exhaust retainers or locks.
 
Early SB Fords use .393" tip length exhaust while later versions like GT40 use longer tip length to work with stock rotators.
 
Long tip length applications such as GT40 and GT40P heads can be converted to use .393" tip lengths on both intake and exhaust. The conversion normally requires the same retainer and lock set up as the intake making all sixteen retainers and locks the same, not staggered.
 
If you order a set of these and plan on getting one of our GT40 or GT40P spring kits, be sure to select the .393"/.393" option if shown. Otherwise request the kit for .393" tip length valves on both intake/exhaust. (use the comments section during check out)
 
Doing so will assure you receive retainers and locks intended for .393" tip length valves. If you already purchased one of our GT40 /P spring kits for the staggered tip length valves, it can be easily converted simply by changing the exhaust locks. If you would like to order a half set of locks for .393" tip length valves simply contact us and we'll point you in the right direction.
 
1.545" exhaust valves can be installed in most any SBF 302 heads but require the seats to machined for larger ex valves. This is normally done while doing a valve job. Machine shops using modern seat machining equipment, can performance the machining with just a little more effort then doing a std valve job.

Note A: Don't let the 5.090" OAL fool you. This is a std overall length valve, intended to replace 5.075" length valves. The OAL measures .015" more simply because the margin on the valve head is .015" thicker which increases the valve heads integrity when used with high spring pressures and high RPM.
